Summer Sangria

Fresh summer fruit, crisp white wine, and basil…how refreshing! This cocktail is delicious and summery. Sunshine in a glass. Use whatever fruit is in season. Fresh fruit is key. Cheers!

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups assorted fruit, such as peaches, plums, pineapple, mango, apples, melons
  • 1 cup basil leaves torn
  • 1/2 cup Cointreau
  • 1 bottle white wine such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio
  • Juice of one lemon
  • ice

Instructions:

In a pitcher, combine fruit, basil or mint, and orange liqueur. Mash gently with the back of a wooden spoon until basil is bruised and fruit releases juices. Add wine and lemon juice and stir to combine. Refrigerate 1 hour (or up to 1 day). To serve, fill eight glasses with ice and top with sangria.
